Horse Gait October 14, 2019 0 By Aaron Weir Canter: Not quite a full gallop but certainly faster than a walk. A nice speed for making jumps or traveling a distance. The legs move little synchronization but still have the flow. Trot: Almost an elegant way of walking. The legs are in sync and move with no flaws or over extensions. Walk: The slowest speed of the horse. Perhaps when moving around the stall or to and from the stall. The legs move with each other in an opposite pattern. (Front left with back right, front right with back left). Gallop: When a horse reaches faster speeds and the legs almost become blurs. At some moments all four legs are off the ground at once.
